An excommunicated puritan family moves to rural New England to live off of the land but is threatened by a dark presence lurking in the woods.

I know, I know, it sounds as generic as every other supernatural witch themed movie released the past five years. But here's the thing guys, this one is actually good!

Atmospheric from start to finish this unexpected little gem brims with style and substance. This film leads you on with its slow moment build-ups pushing you slowly to the edge of your seat waiting in dread and inticipation and then BAM the payoff happens! And you go "oh f**k!" (Seriously, I sat up and said "oh fuck!" alone, after I've seen hundreds of horror films.).

The movies teases you with long stylized cinematic shots and expertly lit lighting and sends chills down your spine with its ambient Zarthustra like score of strings. I was drawn into the atmosphere quickly and still it resonates in me with a sense of chaos and dread.

Im stunned! I'm almost speechless guys! How did this turn out so good? Clearly it has all the makings of a paint by numbers off season horror movie but yet, its good. Oh right I know why it's so good! Talent, thought and caring from the cast and crew is why! Take note Hollywood. Bravo movie that I skipped about a hundred times over to watch something else for.
