Review of The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006) by Alice P — 20 May 2010
I know little to nothing about the history of Ireland and England. I would like to think this movie could have enlightened me. Instead, I just got a lot of yelling, a lot of uniforms (similarly colored to further confusion), and more confusion.
I looked for meaning after watching and see that some people really took the movie seriously and were touched by numerous scenes. I was never really closed to feeling anything for the entire two hours, seven minutes.
Maybe that is due to said confusion, maybe it's just stupid and pointless to put on a uniform and yell and kill people. It's hard for me to pick a side when everyone is doing that.
