Review of The Wind Rises (2013) by Dokalu — 30 Jun 2015
This is a beautiful film from the best animation studio ever. A touching story about a plane designer in the middle of the WWII. This is not a children's movie. Some kids could like it, but this is a very mature film that touches very mature aspects about real life, and it does perfectly.
It has beautiful hand-drawn animation and a perfect script. Also, the way they show how World War II developed in Japan, or at least, from another point of view that the one we are used to, is something quite interesting (even when it's not a really big important subject in the movie), and that's good enough reason to watch it.
One thing that I didn't like, though, was the fact that they gave a very cold personality to the main character, which is cool for the most part, but some times it exaggerates. Besides that, this is the best way to end Miyazaki's career.
So long, master.
