I had never watched the cartoon. My kids wanted to see this, so I went in not having any preconceptions about it. I come away thinking: the characters are likeable, if not annoying, for the most part; the story was interesting, if not educational, for the most part; the animation left much to be desired - the style just isnt what I look for.
My kids give it 4 stars, as does my wife. Sounds like good fun for the entire family! Based on this, we will be renting Rugrats/Thornberrys in the near future.
