Review of The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill (2003) by Martin D — 21 Jul 2005
Intriguing, yet somewhat innocuous, documentary about a free-spirited denizen of San Francisco who spends his time caring for parrots in and out of his modest abode. The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill, directed by Judy Irving, is a quiet and sometimes touching film, but its narrative seems extraordinarily protracted, and there are passages where significant pieces of information have been either excised or left out altogether; additionally, some rather obvious issues are not resolved, leaving one interested, but finally unsatisfied.
This is a good movie, but not a great one.
