Review of The Wild Man of the Navidad (2008) by Matt S — 10 Oct 2009
A man covered with carpets and rugs from the local store is the "monster"? He terrorizes the area for more then 30 years and more and then is taken down by a single gunshot? Is this movie a joke? And all the answers are yes, yes and yes.
This bleak "movie" keeps you what's the point of making these kind of movies? Some speak about the recreation of th70's style B movies? What for? It's the 21st century and we need fresh ideas not some hillbilly local legend turned into "cinema" with a budget for a popcorn machine.
If you want to feel the southern creepy horror atmosphere there is the No Land...., The Reaping the Black Snake Moan and many other recent movies, but to market this?! Maybe someone into trash culture would call it symphatetic but for me it's just pathetic.
