Review of The Wild Geese (1978) by James C — 10 Oct 2007
An excellent British war film about ageing soldiers hired as mercenaries by corrupt businessmen to rescue and put back in power the democratic leader of a small african country, only to be double crossed in mid mission by the very people who hired them.
They then have to fight their way out of hostile territory to escape death at the hands of massed death squads out to kill them. A classic... my only gripe is the terrible casting of the boy who plays the son of the character played by Richard Harris!! Terrible acting and I have seen better and younger actors in similar roles.
Otherwise a good film for a wet Sunday afternoon.
