Review of The Wild Bunch (1969) by Ken S — 20 Jul 2008
A brutal movie about nasty, amoral men. A true western in that there are no "Heroes" just various crooks, grifters, hustlers and murderers all looking for the big pay off. The final scene neatly encapsulates Pekinpah's vision of the need for expediency at the far edge of civilisation.
No neat parables of love and mateship here.
