Review of The Wild Bunch (1969) by Ross B — 11 Feb 2009
A classic western which can not be equaled. William Holden, Robert Ryan, and Ernest Borgnine do an amazing job as morally questionable heroes. Sam Peckinpah brings a look to this film that is unique and different.
The climatic showdown is probably one of the best shootouts ever. It is just mesmerizing between the slow-mo and the sheer mass of people, it is hard to keep your eyes away during the entire scene. Just a classic Western and signaled the end of the genre.
