Review of The Wild Bunch (1969) by Colin H — 30 Apr 2009
If this is the only Peckinpah film I end up liking i'll still consider him a genius just for making this! From the very first scene with the kids playing a delightful game and the group riding into town you know this is going to be a great film! Loved the group chemistry between them all, the performances are fantastic.
Robert Ryan is pretty fantastic as well. You can see how much influence this film had on other filmmakers. But that doesn't mean this is dated, it holds up perfectly well. The violence is still shocking even by today's standards.
