Review of The Wild Bunch (1969) by Augustine H — 04 Aug 2013
The bloodiest opening and ending are undoubtedly breathtaking in a way that perhaps only Michael Mann's Heat is comparable with contemporary uniforms. However, one should also pay tribute to the loyalty and morality demonstrated by the kind-hearted bunch.
Under the standard Western formula, though their fate is somehow destined with the presence of familiar foes and the ruthless wealthy and powerful, their struggle over principles is always exhilarating and commendable.
