Review of The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia (2009) by Slappy M — 06 Aug 2011
This is an awful documentary. I live near the hill country and have lots of friends that are are hill people. I have even had hillbilly rednecks marry into my family, and NONE of them are like the horrible White family.
My redneck friends have jobs, support their children, respect their wives, and don't get welfare checks and spend their days high on weed or pills. The White family suffered a loss with the death of their patriarch D.
Ray, and since then they have run amok. I was so disgusted with their behavior and their general attitude toward life. Especially the "rampage" that Brandon went on that ended up costing him 25 to 50 years.
They feel as if life "just happens" around them and they are not at fault for all of the crimes that they commit. It is a sad commentary on the evils of drug addiction and how it leads nowhere except prison or death.
