Review of The Wild (2006) by Jack Y — 20 Jun 2009
The Wild, easily one of the most dissapointing movies I've ever seen. I wasn't a fan of the first Madagascar, but The Wild sinks below it. I'm also sad to say its Disney's worst film: I prefer their direct-to-video sequels over this one any day.
The storyline is a poor mesh of Finding Nemo and Madagascar, fit with the whole "son wants to please father" angst subplot. The pacing is horrible, and the movie is hardly funny, just predictable and awkward at times. I did enjoy John Belushi, and all the voice acting wasn't bad in itself; but all character and voice was lost in an ultra-yawn-inducing plot. My younger siblings and my parents were not fans of it either, and I'm only too glad we did not recieve it as a Christmas gift that year. The only plus was the animation. 2 out 10.
