Review of The Wicker Man (1973) by Kasper K — 06 Mar 2009
The story line for this 1973 original is better than the 2006 remake. The acting is pretty good and the creepy atmosphere is very effective. I would have rated this movie higher except for two things - 1) The 60's-style flower child music throughout is distracting and annoying and 2) watching Christopher Lee, the great Dracula, prancing around in a dress and wig for a strange religious ritual was both disturbing and comical.
Warning - there is some surprising "free love" nudity.
