Review of The Wicker Man (1973) by Rob T — 07 Apr 2009
I'm sure it was considered a formidable film when it was first released, but I found it terribly dated - all the same, it was interesting to watch (especially since I'd viewed the 2006 remake just before this one.
) There were parts of the remake that I didn't get, and I found that this one filled the gaps. On their own, neither are particularly strong, plotwise - which is sad, as it's a very interesting concept.
I find it amusing that I was more disturbed by the relative fanaticism of the policeman than the residents of Summerisle.
