Review of The Wicker Man (1973) by Kevin S — 14 Mar 2009
Infamously arriving at a time when British cinema needed it, The Wicker Man (seemingly) fuses the detective genre with thriller, comedic inflections, musical and psychological horror. All of this is pulled off in an incredible feat of writing by Anthony Shaffer.
We also have incredible performances by Edward Woodward, Christopher Lee and the supporting cast.
In short: a real masterpiece.
