Review of The Wicker Man (1973) by Joe L — 01 Jan 2009
It's a really short, yet awesome cult story. This movie is hard to classify it's not quite a thriller or horror film, but does have it's share of an overall creepy atmosphere, but in a much more comical way.
I adored the ending and the contrast between the good catholic police officer and the pagan islanders. Christopher Lee and Edward Woodward are great in their respective roles and overall this is just a gem in the experimental and great 70s horror and cult films that were to follow.
I don't even want to watch the remake to tarnish this great film.
