Review of The Westerner (1940) by Jeremiah L — 14 Aug 2008
A great Western that pits the 'Homesteaders' versus the 'Cattlemen' in a section of Texas run by a renegade Judge Roy Bean (Brennan) that hands out hangings like manna from Heaven and favors the Cattlemen.
Cooper is the moral outsider that tries to bridge the gap but Brennan is the whole show.
