Review of The Wendell Baker Story (2005) by Scott D — 22 Dec 2007
Eva Mendes couldn't act her way out of a box which hurts the film quite a bit- that and there's an overwhelming feeling of disconnection (new drinking game, take a shot every time there's a fade to black randomly in the middle of a scene).
.. it takes a while for Wendell and his crew to find their groove but the last hour or so is gold. It's just getting to that point that Andrew and Luke seemed to have. It doesn't help that it feels like the movie was a solid R and was trimmed at the last minute for a PG-13 rating.
Call me a hopeless lovesick romantic but the ending worked... if you're a Wilson Bros. fan, definitely worth a look.
