Review of The Wendell Baker Story (2005) by Toddy T — 27 Mar 2008
Absolutely dreadful title. Sounds like a made for tv movie about a stock car racer who moves into a monestary and teaches them how to reach utter spritual grooviness through deliberate applications of no limit Texas hold 'em.
Actually it's a lark and a ramble of a movie, infinitely more interesting than most. Luke Wilson wrote, co-directed, and stars here and gives one of his better performances. It was also fun to see Owen Wilson play such a bastard.
Well worth the trip to the redbox.
