Review of The Weirdo (1989) by Travis J — 25 Apr 2010
Actually, it really doesn't resemble the Shakespeare or Stevenson works mentioned in the synopsis one bit. This is pure Andy Milligan - all of the obsessions are here - and few people ever made such painfully personal films. See a retarded kid sever a man's hands and be beaten to death by angry villagers before his cripple girlfriend looks up from his bloody corpse to see a mother abusing her young child and cry out "Why can't people just be nice to each other?".
Poignant as fuck.
