Review of The Wedding Ringer (2015) by Crystal S — 27 Apr 2015
The Wedding Ringer is surprisingly funny; Kevin Hart and Josh Gad have a great chemistry that does make the movie entertaining. The movie is not great nor bad but fair. Kevin Hart is the aimed target for studios trying to put him in the lead, and have him perform the same role.
Hart is entertaining in this one, and Josh Gad also was funny as Doug who is soon to get married but has no best man to attend his wedding. The duo scriptwriters Jeremy Garelick and Jay Lavender did use some of the concept that was used in the movie, I Love You, Man.
The idea did feel like a rip off but with Kevin Hart in the lead, any movie with this similar premise is temporarily forgotten. The Wedding Ringer is a fair comedy film, and a little better as one of Kevin Hart movies.
