Review of The Weather Underground (2002) by John C — 01 Jul 2004
I really disliked this film. I disliked it from the first few minutes and continued until the end. This movie, and maybe this was the intent of the filmakers, essentially glorifies and makes into heros a group of violent ant-war protesters in the 1960s-70s.
Little historical context is given for this group or its actions, instead its basically a nostaligic trip back into the past of the failed ultra-left. One thing this movie is good for... it makes you realize that the ultra left is as wacky and ridiculous and the ultra right.
Did you hear that Michael Moore?
