I wouldn't label this as a comedy, but more of a drama. It was like watching a man's childhood dreams/illusions get shattered. If that's what you're looking for, then this may be for you.
There were a few funny parts, but laughing at them was almost a guilty pleasure-- the funniest scenes either were due to dysfunctional relationships or mean treatment by other people. Altogether, it left me in a melancholic mood.
