Review of The Weather Man (2005) by James M — 24 Jun 2009

Enjoyable for it's duration, with good central performances, but the movie has many flaws... One of many being that it's hard to really care about Nicolas Cage's character, in fact, at times you imagine screaming at the screen "Sort yourself out, you fucking loser!".

However, there are bits which made me chuckle and a few other scenes, particularly with Michael Caine, which I found poignant. The biggest trouble with this movie though is that it just can't decide whether it's a comedy or a drama... Or is that just a play on the word 'Weather'?

If so, that's bollocks!
