Review of The Weather Man (2005) by Alex D — 15 Apr 2012
When a tiny, bizarre script gets a star and a hot director attached the world gets a brief glimpse inside the head of the average screenwriter. This strangely and minutely comic drama is one giant ball of awkward for the confused and confusing protagonist as his career propels forward and his personal life spirals out of control.
It may not be a fantastic movie, but it's a welcome relief from the relatively standard formulas of modern comedies. The success of movies like this ushered in the 'Little Miss Sunshine's of the world.
