Review of The Way Way Back (2013) by Matheus C — 27 Dec 2013
If you are in the mood to chill out and just go with a coming of age, feel good movie...then you'll love it.
The movie is slower paced which gives you the opportunity to get into the vibe of the movie. This is when it becomes disarming, funny, charming and you can't help but root for Liam James' character, Duncan. It's also nice seeing Carell show he can play a more serious role.
The Way, Way Back has a lot of heart and while maintaining that Sunday afternoon feeling, the drama is engaging and you come to genuinely care about the characters.
It is important to have the right expectations when watching The Way, Way Back and personally speaking I can't praise it enough. It was a thoroughly enjoyable movie.
