Review of The Way Way Back (2013) by Tom G — 10 Mar 2014
The Way Way Back is the least raunchy and the most hilarious film of the summer, proving that a truly funny comedy can be much more than overly sexual jokes and unnatural situations. This was a real life story filled with real life, interesting and sometimes bat s*** crazy characters (played by a tremendous ensemble of actors) that made its incredibly awkward hero the most normal and sympathetic character out of the bunch.
Sure, it ties everything up in a neat little bow at the end, but in a way that is perfectly acceptable for an audience that is tired of cliche corny endings. It is great for young and old alike and deserves to go down in film history as a golden, must see comedy.
