Review of The Way Way Back (2013) by David P — 10 Feb 2015
I was nervous at first from the beginning, a really awkward out-of-place kid, I could kind of see where this was going. By the end, the movie really grew on me and was a fun story of a kid gaining confidence in himself, and being himself and not being what others wanted him to be.
This is solidly acted with a great script, leaves you with a smile on your face. It's a story we've all seen before, and yet it's a fresh take on what's been done before; not exactly a coming of age story, more like a being who you want to be and being happy.
It takes a while to be invested in the movie, but you won't regret watching it. I know I didn't.
