Review of The Way of the Gun (2000) by Dylan L — 27 Sep 2007
Underrated/underappreciated directorial debut from the writer of The Usual Suspects. James Caan proves he's still a cold-blooded gangster even in his 60s. Another one of those movies where you need to shut up and listen, because they don't explain shit and the dialog is pretty sharp.
And really, one of the best shoot-outs ever, a homage to Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid (on which this was based), only done better than the original. Who knew Ryan Philippe was kind of a badass?
