Review of The Way of the Gun (2000) by Kieran M — 19 Jan 2009
The threat 'or I'll come over there and fuck-start her head' is one of those that you really want to be able to work into your everyday speak despite the difficulty involved. While this movie probably wouldn't have been made but for the successs of 'The Usual Suspects', it's entertaining at the least.
Good action, directing, etc.. The script borders on the silly at times, going for more neo-noir dialogue than the film's engine can really haul. Del Toro and Caan make it a forgivable excess though and other styles within the script like the aforementioned 'fuckstarting' keep it from REALLY getting tired.
