Review of The Way of the Gun (2000) by Chad E — 29 Mar 2009
One of the most underrated crime films ever; written and directed by the screenwriter of the Usual Suspects. The pacing is amazing. The cast is stunning. The dialogue crackles. The plot is stellar. The gunfights are intense. But it's not just the story of these criminals without hearts of gold that makes the movie, it's the little details--like the way they hold their guns, the ransom money taking up several gym bags and not just one case.
It's worth seeing alone for the opening with Sarah Silverman as the loud, annoying girlfriend, or the kidnap scene, or the snail's pace car chase, or the fianl shoot-out.
