Simple, well-developed, believable, and very likable. A lot of "gay" films seem to drown in corniness or unrealistic setups, but this film is not one of them. Sometimes I feel as though watching a movie in a foreign language allows me to better enjoy the actors' abilities to emote.
This cast did a great job. There is a scene with the father and son that is very touching, but I feel like the exchange program element of the plot was a tidbit unresolved by the end.
