Review of The Way Back (2011) by Linda A — 03 Jun 2011
Rather incredulous story of a 4,000 mile escape from a Siberian gulag to the Indian border - on foot, without food or water supplies, and no weapons except a knife. Other than the 2 characters played by Ed Harris and Colin Farrell, the rest fail to leave an impression, while the scenery, though grand in an expansive way, are more bleak than beautiful.
Nothing particularly exciting happens to the fugitives throughout the journey too, if you discount the few deaths from starvation and fatigue that the viewer is already prepared for.
