Another well made film from Peter Weir. The story follows a group of men who escape a Gulag in Siberia and attempt a 4000km trek to freedom through the worst imaginable terrain possible. All the leads give strong performances, including: Mark Strong, Ed Harris, Colin Farrell and Jim Sturgess.
I think think it's an important and interesting film, but is a tough watch as you are essentially watching them suffer for the entirety of the film. I think it could have been cut down some, as at over 2hrs, it makes for a tough watch. It is still very much recommended though, check it out!
