Review of The Way Back (2011) by Ben H — 16 Jan 2013
A good little film that will be largely ignored by audiences I fear.
A (roughly) true story of impressive human endurance set against the expanses of Siberia, the Himalayas and a lot of sand. It's well acted, well directed and pretty darn enjoyable.
Ruins things slightly with a spoiler at the start and a naff ending. Also doesn't need the pointless history lesson regarding the fall of communism! But ignore that and you're sorted!
