Review of The Way (2010) by Mark C — 01 Jun 2012
Excellent film. Gentle and uplifting story, with beautiful scenery and a complementary soundtrack. Martin Sheen (who ranks as one of my favourite actors) brilliantly portrays the LA Opthamolagist who walks the 750km Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route to work through the accidental death of his only son (on the route).
Directed by Emilio Estevez, whose appearances in the movie as the dead son are poignant and significant to the atmospherics. Reflective, but not sad, with some funny moments thrown in. Recommended for the cinema to fully enjoy the beauty and significance of the scenery.
