Review of The Way (2010) by David L — 05 Dec 2017
Martin Sheen gives a respectable performance as a grieving father trying to understand his son by finishing the pilgrimage he started, but none of his fellow travelers have as strong an emotional core.
The filmmaking itself is fairly repetitive (it drags over its two hour running time), and lacks true inspiration. But ultimately, it comes down to what you want. If you want something that shows faith and redemption onscreen, you'll be satisfied.
If you want something that shows what faith and redemption feels like onscreen - and that's not the same thing - then you'll be disappointed.
