Review of The Waterboy (1998) by Chris B — 13 Jun 2012
I'm not saying this is an all-time great comedy by any means, but in my opinion it's one of Sandler's better movies. Given his incredible penchant for making horrible movies that's not saying much, but this movie is honestly funny for the most part.
Let me just take this time to question how in the hell is anyone in Hollywood still giving this man money to make movies? It's amazing how his genius on SNL could have translated into such an embarrassing movie career.
He's turned the glory of his SNL days into 20 years of making some of the worst "comedy movies" ever. For someone who grew up with Opera Man, Canteen Boy, Cajun Man and all his other classic roles on SNL it's been sad to witness.
