Review of The Water Diviner (2014) by David C — 04 Apr 2015
One scene in this movie really stands out. Heart wrenching. The direction felt soft, the acting was good, the story was excellent. That one scene will be with me forever.
Many will think this movie is a bit slow, but the sorrow and pain inflicted on the protagonist (Russell Crowe) is apparent throughout. There is a little love story here as well, but I can't get on board with it because both characters would not be in a place to find love. This movie pushes this idea too much and is it's biggest flaw.
The rest of the story is what keeps the viewer interested. Although slow, this is definitely the reason you should watch. In honor of real life tragedies, this is a movie I recommend to fans of The Patriot. 3 out of 5 stars.
