Review of The Water Diviner (2014) by Sandy B — 07 May 2015

Sometimes I end up enjoying a movie because it was so bad that it was funny. Such is the case with "The Water Diviner". I thought it actually started out pretty good...the diviner imagery, the landscape, the family trauma...even the many many cloe-ups of RC. It worked. That's why I can give it 2 stars because from there it went downhill fairly quickly. A ludicrous plot at times, overacting/bad acting...complete miscasting of all things Turkish and female...ridiculous romance. There were a few redeeming moments but once he joins up with the Turkish Nationals, it's so far over the top that my friend and I started whispering insults. I NEVER talk during movies. NEVER. And a pice of advice to RC: If you are going to direct a movie, wait at least til your 3rd or 4th to try directing yourself.

SO, is it possible for some people to like this movie? Absolutely. Was it me that liked this movie. No. Nada. Nyet. Never.
