This is terrible but so cute at the same time, with this corny but sweet goosebump feel reserved for children pictures. With Bette Davis playing her very best hammy over-the-top, and the young lead actress being delightfully dumb and bad, it could have been a mess but somehow it gels perfectly fine as a mystery sci-fi fantasy for kids ripe with b-movie grandness.
