Review of The Wasp Woman (1959) by Alex S — 26 Apr 2008
Oh, this one was painful. Part of the problem here is that Susan Cabot's character looked like an ex of mine, so already I was fighting a losing battle in this 73-minute nightmare. A crazy old guy figures out a way to create the founatin of youth out of wasp serum (don't ask).
Formerly-hot CEO, Janice Starlin (Cabot), gets addicted, goes insane, kills her coworkers while running around as a wasp and then the movie stops. Almost the entire thing takes place in the office building where there are a lot of couches and hallways that look the same and it is so sloppily done that you may be amazed at how long 70 minutes really can be.
Points for never showing Wasp Woman in full out head-on mode (considering you can see where the mask stops in the back of her head at one point, this was a very tact decision).
