Review of The Warrior's Way (2010) by Hal M — 26 Mar 2011
What a wonderfully cool, beautiful and wacky film...!
It's like 'Crouching Tiger' meets 'Wild Wild West'... but with a really big twist, that will smack you side-ways and make your head spin... ; ).
First of all, the filming and colours are both spectacular... The FX scenes are outrageously accurate and superbly stylistic... a sort of martial arts poetic mayhem... The film mixes action, fantasy, drama and comedy, in a brilliant way... a way that I haven't seen before...
Featuring Asian film star Dong-gun Jang (The Promise, etc...) in the leading role, the cast also offers great performances by Kate Bosworth (so gorgeous but waaaay too skinny) and veteran actor Geoffrey Rush (crazy and different role than usual)...
If you're up for something different and mesmerizing... you've got to see this film... It's not often you get to go on such a roller-coaster ride nowadays, in the giant pool of box-office cop-outs and 'dime-a-dozen' films...but this time they really hit the jackpot... In its genre, this is a masterpiece... ; ).
Watch it... now...!
