I think this movie was meant to be a spoof or just silly but it does work if you really just accept it for what it is.

The movie starts out strong with crazy samurai fighting and a plot where the worst assassin decides to take in a baby of a rival clan instead of killing it. He goes to America where he has a friend to hide from the violence. He meets a girl trains her to fight with swords after he found out as a child her parents were murdered by some guy who ends up coming back and that's when the movie get's crazy.

Now the action is crazy CG that is not very good mixed with gun fights mixed with wire work. Now don't get me wrong there are some cool deaths and the ending of the movie was cool. But the pacing was way off. The movie starts strong and becomes very slow and all most a comedy for a short while. Than the action ramps up and you forget it's a comedy movie. Kate Bosworth is horrible in this worst accent ever and plays just a dumb character. The highlight in this movie is Geoffrey Rush he's awesome in this movie great character, and a great actor.

The one thing I liked was the set design it was so amazing. It was like a mix of Tim Burton but was very Asian and it really worked.

I was really looking forward to this movie and than realized it's just straight bad. I'm not saying don't see it if you have interest in the martial arts genre but just rent it, or watch it on demand. Rent It,.
