Review of The Warrior's Way (2010) by Alison O — 05 Apr 2011
The moment I saw the "subtitles" at the first scene, I knew this was no serious flick, Then the appeareance of Tony Cox gave the final confirmation that I had to let my brain elsewhere if I wanted to enjoy this film at least a little; with that said, all the over the top sequences following can be digested easily.
Decent action sequences, interesting cg visuals, a not so plausible but rather sad story about a man that want to leave his past of violence and commune with the inhabitants of a forgotten town, but realizes how dangerous his past can be, and how it wont stay buried.
The final sequence with the sun would have been a great ending, but the last "free fish" scene remembered me this was no serious gig. Kate Bosworth does a far more decent job here than in Superman Returns, and I still can't believe Geoffrey Rush was in this.
A movie for those who like this mixture of genres and the action involved in them.
