Review of The Warrior's Way (2010) by Leah C — 13 Jul 2011
Ever since Mortal Kombat 2, I've known a movie is doomed when ninjas start dropping out of the sky spontaneously. The special effects are better here-- but sadly, the movie is a lost cause. I can handle a good bit of cheese, camp, excessive effects and over the top cartoon violence, but here the dialogue is just so bad, the characters so bland and irritating, and the action so incomprehensible... I just can't deal with it. One second it's sunset, then it's a thunderstorm, then it's sunset again, with spontaneous sakura petals dropping out of whatever netherworldly portal must have spawned all these endless ninjas... ugggh. It would have been nice if the lead character had more than one facial expression, at the very least... but then there's that awful little moustache.
Some scenes are visually impressive, but overall it's just not worth the headache.
