Review of The Warriors (1979) by Shaun B — 02 Sep 2012

I understand how this is a minor classic as a cult underground film, but it still blows my mind in how bad of a movie it can be. I still like it (how can you possibly dislike a film that has mimes in suspenders as a gang?) but if you think about what's going on on-screen your head may explode.

It's best to watch this while intoxicated or if you're a rabid fan of bad movies with great 1980s fashion sensibilities and head-scratching plot schematics. I fail to see how most score this at 4 stars or better.

It's a 6/10 at best and it's enjoyable, but ridiculous in so many different ways that one reviewer succinctly and correctly lists it as "Welcome Back Kotter meets A Clockwork Orange" .

..oh fuck it, Warriors come out to plaaAAAaaay!
