Review of The Warriors (1979) by Anna B — 21 Feb 2014

It's a nice simple, efficient story, but it's not executed very well, with a frankly surprising amount of filler for such a short movie, and a surprising lack of violence. Considering the simple plot it's frustrating how much running around and bland dialogue there is.

And most of the apparently tough gang-members look like skinny white-bread actors. I suspect it was mind-blowing when it came out and not much critical re-appraisal has taken place since then. The Krautrock soundtrack totally kicks ass though.
