Review of The Ward (2010) by Mike G — 22 Oct 2011
It's like an inferior Shutter Island premise gone too long down hallways, running away, trying locked doors, etcetera, and having "the monster" suddenly in your face. it's not a bad premise as far as horror flicks go, but simple shocks are as old and dated and expected as the original Halloween movie that put John Carpenter on the map and started the trend, which like Michael Myers, just won't die.
Strict horror fans might like it, but it's pretty disappointing and it seems safe to say that John Carpenter's time has past as he seems to have very few tricks left up his sleeve.
